The SWS Daily HF Propagation Report provides a one day summary and three day forecast of HF propagation and ionospheric conditions in the Australian region. The summary and forecast give a description of the variation of the vertical maximum usable frequency (MUF) of the ionosphere. An ionospheric index (the T-index) for the summary and 3 day forecast are also provided. The T-index is used by SWS customers who have purchased ASAPS or who use the SWS on-line prediction system. Vertical MUF (foF2) values are obtained from autoscaled ionograms produced from Bureau ionosondes.
