minor storm on 4 Aug.
quiet to unsettled on other days.
2. FORECAST (12 AUGUST - 11 SEPTEMBER)
Disturbed Periods:
active on 23,30, and 31 Aug.
Best Quiet Periods:
12 Aug to 18 Aug, 20 Aug to 22 Aug, 25 Aug to 29 Aug, 3 Sep to 4 Sep, 7 Sep.
3. FORECAST FOR HIGH RESOLUTION AEROMAGNETIC SURVEYS
Northern Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: None.
Best Quiet Periods: 12 Aug to 7 Sep.
Central Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: None.
Best Quiet Periods: 12 Aug to 7 Sep.
Southern Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: None.
Best Quiet Periods: 12 Aug to 21 Aug, 27 Aug to 29 Aug, 1 Sep to 7 Sep.
Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum of
20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be well
correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic survey
flight-line data.
PLEASE NOTE:
Geomagnetic activity can frequently be determined by short timescale
solar events that cannot be forecast a week in advance, particularly
at solar maximum.
