SUBJ: IPS WEEKLY GEOPHYSICAL REPORT
ISSUED ON 08 JUNE 2006, BY IPS RADIO AND SPACE SERVICES,
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE

1. SUMMARY (30 MAY - 07 JUNE)
K indices are in UT (0-24). For conversion to local time:
AEST = UT + 10 hours; ACST = UT + 9.5 hours; AWST = UT + 8 hours

The geomagnetic activity remained mostly at quiet to
unsettled levels during this period with some active
periods on 06 June due to the effect of a high speed
solar wind stream from a coronal hole.

2. FORECAST (08 JUNE - 08 JULY)
Disturbed Periods:
Active on 08 June, otherwise mostly quiet to unsettled.

Best Quiet Periods:
 11 to 13 June, 15 June to 26 June, 29 June to 02 July.

3. FORECAST FOR HIGH RESOLUTION AEROMAGNETIC SURVEYS

Northern Australian Regions:
 Disturbed Periods: None.
Best Quiet Periods: 8 Jun to 3 Jul.

Central Australian Regions:
 Disturbed Periods: 4 Jul.
Best Quiet Periods: 10 Jun to 17 Jun, 22 Jun to 28 Jun, 1 Jul to 2 Jul.

Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum of
20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be well
correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic survey
flight-line data.
