The geomagnetic activity remained mostly at quiet to
unsettled levels during this period. However, the
geomagnetic activity rose to quiet to active levels on
28 December and 31 December. The origin of rise in
geomagnetic activity on 28 December could not be
determined. The rise in geomagnetic activity on 31
December has been attributed to the strenthening of
solar wind stream due to a coronal hole effect.
