Solar activity on UT day 06-Jan is expected to be at R0-R1 levels,
with the chance of an isolated R2 event. A new moderately large solar
region has rotated onto the solar disk over the southeast solar limb
and solar activity may increase in coming days. The solar wind is
expected to be light. G0 geomagnetic conditions are expected. Southern
Australian region maximum usable frequencies are expected to be
initially depressed 15-20%, slowly recovering during the local day
today. Northern Australian region MUFs are expected to be near
predicted monthly values to 15% enhanced. Isolated shortwave fadeouts
are probable.
