Solar activity on UT day 16-Dec is expected to be at R1-R2 levels. The
solar wind speed is expected to be moderate to strong. G0 geomagnetic
conditions are expected, with a chance of G1 due to possible CME
arrival. An increase in geomagnetic activity is expected on 17-Dec,
with G1 periods expected. S1 solar proton conditions are expected on
16-Dec. HF radio communication conditions are expected to be mostly
normal. Maximum usable frequencies (MUFs) are expected to be generally
near predicted monthly values. Degraded conditions for the southern
Australian region are expected over 17-18 Dec. Shortwave fadeouts are
possible.
