Wed Dec 6 18:19:03 EST 2023

Solar activity on UT day 06-Dec is expected to be at the R1 level,
with a slight chance of an isolated R2 flare. A new active region has
rotated onto the solar disk and is currently growing. The solar wind
speed is expected to be strong due to a coronal hole wind stream. The
geomagnetic forecast has been revised following a reanalysis of recent
CME activity. G0 geomagnetic conditions are generally expected for
06-Dec. Geomagnetic G0, with the chance of G1 conditions are now
expected on UT day 07-Dec due to a recent filament eruption. HF radio
communication conditions are expected to be fair to normal today.
Maximum usable frequencies (MUFs) are expected to be generally near
predicted monthly values for the northern Australian region, with
depressions of 15-20% early in the UT day for the southern Australian
region, then recovering. Isolated minor shortwave fadeouts are
probable.
