[ips-sf] SWS Summary Forecast for 24 January - issued 2333UT/23-Jan-2019 [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

rwc rwc at ips.gov.au
Thu Jan 24 10:33:58 EST 2019

Very low solar activity is expected for today, UT day 24 January, with
remote chance of C-class flare. The Earth is currently under the
influence of moderately elevated solar wind speed associated with a
equatorial coronal hole. Similar levels of solar wind speeds are
expected for today as the coronal hole effects persist. Geomagnetic
activity in the Australian region is expected to be Quiet to Unsettled
today and at times may even active levels. High-frequency radio
communication users are advised to use slightly lower to near
predicted monthly frequencies due to very low levels of ionising
radiation from the Sun and current disturbed geomagnetic conditions
associated with the coronal hole.
