[ips-sf] SWS Summary Forecast for 03 March - issued 0003UT/03-Mar-2017 [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]

Solar activity was at very low levels during UT day 2 March. Very low
levels of solar activity are expected for the next 3 UT days with a
slight chance to observe C-class flares. The solar wind speed reached
very strong values due to the recurrent coronal hole effect. During
the next 24 h the speed is expected to remain very strong. Geomagnetic
activity was at quiet to active levels across the Australian region on
UT day 2 March. The Australian Dst index reached -58 nT. Quiet to
unsettled geomagnetic conditions are expected for 3 March in the
Australian region. Isolated active periods are also possible. MUFs
were mostly depressed by 15%-35% during UT day 2 March due to
increased geomagnetic activity. Minor to moderate MUF depressions and
degradations in HF conditions are also expected for the next UT day, 3
March.
