Wed Mar 1 10:28:37 EST 2017

Solar activity was at very low levels during UT day 28 February. The
largest observed flare, B7.7, was produced by active region 2641. Very
low to low levels of solar activity are expected for the next 3 UT
days. The solar wind speed was light to moderate on 1 March; during
the next 24 h the speed is expected to increase and can reach strong
levels due to the recurrent coronal hole effect. Geomagnetic activity
was at quiet levels across the Australian region on UT day 28
February. On 1 March geomagnetic activity is expected to increase to
active to minor storm levels due to the coronal hole effect. This
effect may keep the geomagnetic activity enhanced during the next
three UT days. MUFs were mostly near predicted monthly values during
UT day 28 February. Minor to moderate MUF depressions and degradations
in HF conditions are expected during the next three days.
