Solar flare activity was very low during 16 Jan UT and is expected to
remain very low to low today, 17 Jan. No new Earthward directed CMEs
were recorded during 16 Jan. The slow, faint CME launched late on 14
Jan may have a minor impact on Earth during the early hours of 19 Jan.
Slow solar wind with a speed less than 350 km/s is currently arriving
at Earth. Geomagnetic conditions may become unsettled late today, 17
Jan, and reach active levels briefly during 18-19 Jan. Conditions for
HF radio propagation are expected to be near normal in the Southern
Hemisphere and mildly depressed in the Northern Hemisphere during 17
