Thu Mar 19 10:42:42 EST 2015

Solar flare activity over the last 24 hours was moderate. In the
aftermath of the CME impact, the solar wind increased during 18-Mar,
but has abated somewhat recently. The interplanetary magnetic field
has weakened. Geomagnetic conditions reached minor storm levels across
the Australian region with some scattered brief major storm periods.
Unsettled to active conditions are expected for 19-Mar. Significantly
depressed maximum useable frequencies (MUFs) were experienced, and HF
radio communications were poor for much of 18-Mar. HF conditions are
expected to improve on 19-Mar, but MUF depressions are still likely.
Short-wave radio fadeouts and proton events are possible. More aurora
sightings were reported on 18-Mar.
