Tue Mar 17 10:47:44 EST 2015

Solar flare activity was moderate on 16-Mar. Minor coronal mass
ejection effects are likely from late on 17-Mar, with the expected
arrival of a CME that occurred 15-Mar. The solar wind speed is
moderate, with two polar coronal holes probably contributing.
Geomagnetic conditions have returned to quiet levels after mostly
unsettled conditions on 16-Mar, but are expected to reach active to
minor storm levels late on 17-Mar, with the CME arrival. Short-wave
radio fadeouts are possible and there is a small chance of proton
events from active solar region 2297. High-frequency radio
communications are mostly normal with isolated degraded conditions
likely at high latitudes on 18-Mar. Aurora sightings are possible from
southern Australian regions, depending on the CME arrival time.
