[ips-sf] IPS Summary Forecast for 29 January - issued 2316UT/28-Jan-2015

Thu Jan 29 10:16:57 EST 2015

Several M1 class xray flares have occurred over the past 24 hours. No
coronal mass ejections of significance were observed. Active region
2268 which produced one of the M1 flares (and also a C9 flare) is well
positioned near the centre of the Sun such that any further flares
that do produce CMEs are likely to be geoeffective. Geomagnetic
conditions are unsettled due to the continued high speed solar wind
stream, which appears to be slowing waning back to ambient levels.
Conditions for HF radio propagation are good with maximum usable
frequencies at or above predicted monthly values.
