[ips-sf] IPS Summary Forecast for 08 June - issued 2338UT/07-Jun-2014

rwc rwc at ips.gov.au
Sun Jun 8 09:38:24 EST 2014

A weak shock in the solar wind stream was observed today. Besides
enhancements in solar wind stream, it also resulted into a fluctuating
Bz component of the interplanetary magnetic fields. This lead to a
rise in geomagnetic activity to active levels. The solar wind stream
is still holding moderate strength and Bz is still unstable. Quiet to
unsettled geomagnetic conditions with some possibility of isolated
active periods may be expected on 8 June UT day. Solar activity is
expected to stay at low levels with some possibility of M-class event.
Short-wave radio fadeouts possible. High-frequency radio
communications mostly normal to fair.
