[ips-sf] IPS Summary Forecast for 08 July - issued 2355UT/07-Jul-2012

rwc rwc at ips.gov.au
Sun Jul 8 09:55:53 EST 2012

Only three, low M-class flares on 7 Jul. Moderate solar flare activity
is expected, making short-wave fadeouts possible. A Coronal Mass
Ejection was associated with the X1.1 flare at 06 Jul/2308 UT,
however, most of the material was ejected to the south and west; any
effect is likely around 10 Jul. The disturbance in the solar wind due
to CMEs on the 3 and 4 Jul is yet to eventuate. Moderate to strong
solar wind is expected 8 Jul. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to
be unsettled to active with isolated minor storm periods on 8 Jul.
Predicted increase in solar wind and geomagnetic activity due to the 4
Jul CME. High-frequency radio communications fair to normal.
