Flares: none.

Observed 10.7 cm flux/Equivalent Sunspot Number for 03 Feb: 75/13

1B. SOLAR FORECAST
             04 Feb 05 Feb 06 Feb
Activity Very low Very low Very low

10.7cm/SSN 74/11 74/11 74/11

COMMENT: The solar activity remained at Very Low levels during
the UT day 03 Feb. Very Low solar activity is expected for the
next three days with a slight chance of C-class flares. No Earth
directed CMEs were observed in the available LASCO imagery. The
solar wind speed remained elevated over the UT day 03 Feb under
the continued effect of a negative polarity coronal hole, currently
~~620 Km/s. The IMF Bt was steady near 5 nT over the UT day. The
Bz component varied between +/- 5 nT. The solar wind speed is
expected to continue to trend toward nominal levels over the
next few days as the coronal hole effects wane.

      Melbourne NA

Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum
of 20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be
well correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic
survey flight-line data.

NOTE: Indices may have been generated from data obtained in
cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and International Center for Space Weather
Science and Education, Japan.

04 Feb 15 Quiet to Active
05 Feb 10 Quiet to Unsettled
06 Feb 10 Quiet to Unsettled

COMMENT: Presently SWS is experiencing technical difficulties
with acquiring data from our network. Magnetic conditions were
mostly Quiet to Unsettled in the Australian region on 03 Feb.
This is based on limited data mostly from mid latitude regions.
Conditions are expected to be Quiet to Unsettled and occasionally
may reach Active levels in the high latitude regions over the
next 24 hours.
