SUBJ: IPS DAILY SOLAR AND GEOPHYSICAL REPORT
ISSUED AT 2330UT/08 AUGUST 2015 BY IPS RADIO AND SPACE SERVICES
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE
SUMMARY FOR 08 AUGUST AND FORECAST FOR 09 AUGUST - 11 AUGUST
STATUS INDICATORS SOL:** YELLOW ** MAG:GREEN ION: GREEN
-----------------------------------------------------------
1A. SOLAR SUMMARY
Activity 08 Aug: Low

Flares: none.

Observed 10.7 cm flux/Equivalent Sunspot Number for 08 Aug: 121/73

1B. SOLAR FORECAST
             09 Aug 10 Aug 11 Aug
Activity Low to moderate Low to moderate Low to moderate
Fadeouts Possible Possible Possible
10.7cm/SSN 120/72 120/72 115/66

COMMENT: Solar activity is expected to be mostly low during 9
August with the small chance of moderate activity, primarily
from region 2396. CME activity was observed during 8 August in
association with filament eruptions from the far south-east quadrant
and north-west limb. These are not expected to be geoeffective
pending further analysis. Solar wind conditions remain mildly
disturbed due to the lingering effects of a coronal hole and
are expected to abate slowly.

      Casey 12 33422123
      Mawson 30 34434265
      Davis 28 23543264

Observed Regional daily pc3 Indices 08 Aug :
      Darwin 0 (Quiet)
      Townsville 0 (Quiet)

      Gingin 40 (Quiet to unsettled)
      Canberra 51 (Unsettled)

Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum
of 20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be
well correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic
survey flight-line data.

NOTE: Indices may have been generated from data obtained in
cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and International Center for Space Weather
Science and Education, Japan.

Estimated AFr/Ap Indices 08 Aug : A

COMMENT: Geomagnetic activity has been mostly quiet to unsettled
for the Australian region with some storm periods at high latitudes.
Mostly quiet to unsettled levels are expected for 9 August with
the chance of active levels due to the lingering effects of a
coronal hole.
