SUBJ: IPS DAILY SOLAR AND GEOPHYSICAL REPORT
ISSUED AT 2330UT/12 SEPTEMBER 2013 BY IPS RADIO AND SPACE SERVICES
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE
SUMMARY FOR 12 SEPTEMBER AND FORECAST FOR 13 SEPTEMBER - 15 SEPTEMBER
STATUS INDICATORS SOL:GREEN MAG:** YELLOW ** ION: GREEN
-----------------------------------------------------------
1A. SOLAR SUMMARY
Activity 12 Sep: Very low

Flares: none.

Observed 10.7 cm flux/Equivalent Sunspot Number for 12 Sep: 93/38

1B. SOLAR FORECAST
             13 Sep 14 Sep 15 Sep
Activity Very low to low Very low to low Very low to low
Fadeouts None expected None expected None expected
10.7cm/SSN 95/41 100/48 100/48

COMMENT: Four regions on the visible disc. LASCO/STEREO images
show a CME late on 11 Sep which is not expected to be geo-effective.
ACE data show the solar wind undisturbed until ~1800 UT when
an impulse occurred. Since then, temperature and wind speed have
increased. Wind speed is now 400-480 km/s. The north-south IMF
component range was -6 to +10 nT over the reporting period. The
recurrent coronal hole is now in a geo-effective position.

Observed Regional daily pc3 Indices 12 Sep :
      Darwin 23 (Quiet to unsettled)
      Townsville 0 (Quiet)

      Canberra 12 (Quiet)

Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum
of 20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be
well correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic
survey flight-line data.

NOTE: Indices may have been generated from data obtained in
cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and International Center for Space Weather
Science and Education, Japan.

Estimated AFr/Ap Indices 12 Sep : A
           Fredericksburg 7
           Planetary 8

Observed AFr/Ap Indices 11 Sep : A K

COMMENT: IPS Geomagnetic Warning 24 was issued on 11 September
and is current for 12-14 Sep. A recurrent coronal hole is likely
to cause an increase activity 13 Sep.
