SUBJ: IPS DAILY SOLAR AND GEOPHYSICAL REPORT
ISSUED AT 26/2330Z APRIL 2011 BY IPS RADIO AND SPACE SERVICES
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE
SUMMARY FOR 26 APRIL AND FORECAST FOR 27 APRIL - 29 APRIL
STATUS INDICATORS SOL:GREEN MAG:GREEN ION: GREEN
-----------------------------------------------------------
1A. SOLAR SUMMARY
Activity 26 Apr: Very low

Flares: none.

Observed 10.7 cm flux/Equivalent Sunspot Number for 26 Apr: 109/59

1B. SOLAR FORECAST
             27 Apr 28 Apr 29 Apr
Activity Very low Very low Very low
Fadeouts None expected None expected None expected
10.7cm/SSN 105/54 105/54 105/54
COMMENT: Solar activity has been Very Low over the last 48 hours.
The solar wind speed is fluctuating between 380-420 km/s, with
Bz from -2 to +2 nT. Solar activity is expected to remain Very
Low over the next 2 days. There is the possibility of a C-class
flare from region 1195 (S17W25). A coronal hole high speed wind
stream is expected to return late on 29 Apr, resulting in increased
observed solar wind speed.

2A. MAGNETIC SUMMARY

Geomagnetic field for Australian Region 26 Apr: Quiet

Estimated Indices 26 Apr : A K

      Darwin 4 21111112
      Learmonth 2 21111001
      Canberra 0 00110000
      Hobart 1 00110001

Observed Regional daily pc3 Indices 26 Apr :
      Darwin 4 (Quiet)
      Townsville 0 (Quiet)
      Learmonth 0 (Quiet)

      Gnangara 4 (Quiet)
      Canberra 0 (Quiet)
      Hobart 0 (Quiet)
Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum
of 20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be
well correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic
survey flight-line data.

NOTE: Indices may have been generated from data obtained in
cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and Space Environment Research Center, Japan.

Estimated AFr/Ap Indices 26 Apr : A
           Fredericksburg 3
           Planetary 3

Observed AFr/Ap Indices 25 Apr : A K
           Fredericksburg 2
           Planetary 6 2310 1221

2B. MAGNETIC FORECAST

COMMENT: Predominantly Quiet conditions are expected over the
next 2 days. Unsettled conditions might occur from late on 29
Apr with the return of a coronal high speed wind stream.
