Comment:
Southern region HF conditions degraded on 31-Mar at Hobart
and Canberra associated with mild coronal hole wind stream
induced geomagnetic activity. Generally good HF conditions
with enhanced MUFs and mostly quiet geomagnetic conditions,
for remainder of the week particularly for the northern
Australian region. Night spread F occasionally observed at
Hobart and Perth.
2. FORECAST (07 APRIL - 13 APRIL)
Solar:
Solar activity is expected to be mostly at R0 levels, with
the chance of isolated R1-R2 events during the week due to
a new solar region that has recently rotated onto the solar
disk over the south east solar limb. This region produced
the M3 flare on 06-Apr.
Geomagnetic:
G0-G1 11-Apr. G0 on other days.
Frequencies:
MUFs near predicted monthly values to 15% enhanced.
Southern Australian region MUFs may be depressed by 15%
late on 11-Apr/early 12-Apr if mild geomagnetic activity
eventuates on 11-Apr. Isolated shortwave fadeouts possible.
