AUSTRALIAN REGION SUMMARY AND FORECAST

1. SUMMARY (26 JUNE - 02 JULY)

MUFS:
   Cocos Island Region:
      Enhanced 35-60% 06-11, 17-18 UT. Near predicted
      monthly values at other times.
   Niue Island Region:
      Near predicted monthly values. Depressions of
      15-30% 07-08, 17 and 20-21 UT.
   Northern Australian Region:
      Near predicted monthly values. Depressed 20-40% at
      Darwin 10-18 UT and depressed 15-30% at Townsville
      09-13 UT. Occasional night spread F observed at both
      stations.
   Southern Australian and New Zealand Region:
      Near predicted monthly values with 15-30% depressions
      at times 07-19 UT. Night spread F observed at most
      stations.
   Antarctic Region (Casey/Scott Base/Davis/Mawson):
      Near predicted monthly values with depressions to 20%
      at times.

   Cocos Island Region:
      Near predicted monthly values. Depressions of
      20-30% 14-16, 18-23 UT.
   Niue Island Region:
      Near predicted monthly values. Depressions of
      20-25% 12-13, 21-22 UT.
   Northern Australian Region:
      Near predicted monthly values. Depressions of
      20-30% 03, 06, 10-14, 17 UT at Darwin.
   Southern Australian and New Zealand Region:
      Near predicted monthly values. Depressions 20-35%
      at Hobart 09, 13-18 UT.
   Antarctic Region (Casey/Scott Base/Davis/Mawson):
      Mostly near predicted monthly values on a weak
      ionosphere.

MUFS:
   Cocos Island Region:
      Near predicted monthly values. Depressed 25-35%
      18-19, 21 UT. Sporadic E 22-23 UT.
   Niue Island Region:
      Near predicted monthly values.
   Northern Australian Region:
      Near predicted monthly values to 30% enhanced,
      15-20% depressions 10-13 UT. Night spread F. No
      Townsville data.
   Southern Australian and New Zealand Region:
      Near predicted monthly values. Enhanced to 15%
      during local night. Hobart depressed 20-30% 16-18,
      21-23 UT. Night spread F observed at times, all stations.
   Antarctic Region (Casey/Scott Base/Davis/Mawson):
      Near predicted monthly values to 25% depressed.

29 Jun   87      Normal            
MUFS:
   Cocos Island Region:
      Near predicted monthly values to 25% enhanced.
      Depressions 25-35% 13-14, 16 UT.
   Niue Island Region:
      Near predicted monthly values 00-03 UT, then enhanced
      mostly 20-35%. Some night spread F.
   Northern Australian Region:
      Near predicted monthly values. Enhanced 20-35% 08-15,
      17, 23 UT at Darwin and 04-05, 11, 13-14, 16-17, 20 UT
      at Townsville. 
   Southern Australian and New Zealand Region:
      Near predicted monthly values to 30% enhanced except at
      Hobart and Perth where frequencies were mostly 15-35%
      depressed. Hobart affected by spread F most of the period.
   Antarctic Region (Casey/Scott Base/Davis/Mawson):
      Weak ionosphere due to absorption. Sporadic E prevalent.

30 Jun   52      Poor-normal       
MUFS:
   Cocos Island Region:
      Enhanced 25-45% 04-12 UT. Depressed 20-30% 16-19 UT.
      Near predicted monthly values at other times.
   Niue Island Region:
      Near predicted monthly values with 20-30% depressions
      06-08, 11-14 UT.
   Northern Australian Region:
      Near predicted monthly values. Depressions 25-35% 11-12,
      19-21 UT at Darwin. 
   Southern Australian and New Zealand Region:
      Mostly near predicted monthly values during local day
      except Hobart with depressions to 25%. Depressions to 35%
      during local night; depressions increasing with increasing
      latitude. Poor conditions 16-19 UT at Canberra, Hobart and
      Sydney. Perth frequencies were near predicted monthly values
      00-19 UT, then 25-40% depressed. Night spread F at all stations.
   Antarctic Region (Casey/Scott Base/Davis/Mawson):
      Depressed 15-35% 00-10 UT then near predicted monthly values to
      30% enhanced. Weak ionosphere and blanketing sporadic E at times.

MUFS:
   Cocos Island Region:
      Enhanced by 20% during local day.
      Depressed by 25% during local night.
   Niue Island Region:
      Near predicted monthly values during local day.
      Depressed by 15% during local night.
   Northern Australian Region:
      Near predicted monthly values during local day.
      Depressed by 20% during local night.
   Southern Australian and New Zealand Region:
      Depressed by 15% during local day.
      Depressed by 30% during local night.
   Antarctic Region (Casey/Scott Base/Davis/Mawson):
      Near predicted monthly values over the UT day.

      Enhanced by 15% during local day.

   Southern Australian and New Zealand Region:
      Near predicted monthly values during local day.
      Depressed by 15% during local night.
   Antarctic Region (Casey/Scott Base/Davis/Mawson):
      Near predicted monthly values over the UT day.

2. FORECAST (03 JULY - 09 JULY) 
MUFS: MUFs mostly near predicted monthly values. Periods of minor to mild MUF
depressions possible
on 4 and 5 July.

Propagation conditions: Normal to fair. SWFs possible.

3. OUTLOOK (10 JULY - 09 AUGUST)
Degraded HF propagation conditions possible:
20 Jul, 21 Jul, 25 Jul
