G1 geomagnetic conditions were observed in the Australian region on
UT day 18-Aug due to coronal hole high speed wind stream effects.
Some local stations also recorded G1 conditions on 19-Aug, though
the Australian region overall remained at G0.

3. FORECAST FOR HIGH RESOLUTION AEROMAGNETIC SURVEYS
Northern Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: None.
Best Quiet Periods: 20 Aug to 19 Sep.
Central Australian Regions:
Mildly Disturbed Periods: 20-21 Aug, 15-17 Sep.
Best Quiet Periods: 23 Aug to 13 Sep, 19 Sep.
Southern Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: 20-21 Aug, 15-17 Sep.
Best Quiet Periods: 23 Aug to 13 Sep, 19 Sep.
Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum of
20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be well
correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic survey
flight-line data.
PLEASE NOTE:
Geomagnetic activity can frequently be determined by short timescale
solar events that cannot be forecast a week in advance, particularly
at solar maximum.
