cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and Space Environment Research Center, Japan.

active on 12 Dec, active on 14 Dec, active on 20 Dec.
minor storm on 15 Dec.
quiet to unsettled on other days.

2. FORECAST (21 DECEMBER - 20 JANUARY)
Disturbed Periods:
active 21 Dec to 22 Dec, active 2 Jan to 4 Jan.

Best Quiet Periods:
 24 Dec to 26 Dec, 28 Dec to 1 Jan, 5 Jan to 7 Jan, 9 Jan, 11 Jan,
13 Jan, 15 Jan.

3. FORECAST FOR HIGH RESOLUTION AEROMAGNETIC SURVEYS

Northern Australian Regions:
 Disturbed Periods: None.
Best Quiet Periods: 23 Dec to 2 Jan, 11 Jan to 14 Jan.

Central Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: 5 Jan, 7 Jan to 10 Jan, 14 Jan.
Best Quiet Periods: 24 Dec to 30 Dec.

Southern Australian Regions:
Disturbed Periods: 8 Jan to 10 Jan, 14 Jan.
Best Quiet Periods: 24 Dec to 30 Dec.

Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum of
20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be well
correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic survey
flight-line data.
