A strong change in solar wind speed 2305UT 6 Sep 2017. However, the solar wind shock detector has
failed to detect the shock. The detector requires a clear step in speed, Bt, density and temp.
Looking at: http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/products/real-time-solar-wind
Investigation - there is no clear step in soalr wind density (more a gradual rise), temperature step
also not that distinct, perhaps even a drop post shock arrival and at first glance appears may not
to be aligned in time with the clear steps in solar wind speed and soalr wind total magnetic field (Bt) .
A weak sudden impulse was detected though.
Bz northward post shock arrival (Unless soalr wind Bz magnetic component swings southward later on)
currently suggests much reduced geomengnetic activity.
