Solar flare activity on UT day 19-Jan is expected to reach the R2
level, with a chance of R3. S4 solar radiation storm conditions are
currently ongoing and expected to continue into 20-Jan. The solar wind
speed is expected to be very strong over the UT day. G3-G4 geomagnetic
conditions are expected due to the arrival of a Coronal Mass Ejection
(CME) at Earth at 19/2000UT +/- 10 hours. HF radio propagation
conditions are expected to become Fair-Poor across the Australian
region. Maximum usable frequencies (MUFs) in the Australian region are
expected to become depressed by 25-35% compared with predicted monthly
values following the CME arrival.
