A strong shock was observed in the solar wind at 01/2027UT, indicative
of the arrival of a halo CME first observed on 30-Aug. G2-G3
geomagnetic conditions are expected due to ongoing CME effects. Solar
activity on UT day 02-Sep is expected to be at the R1 level, with a
chance of R2. S0 solar radiation storm conditions are expected. The
solar wind speed is expected to be very strong to strong. HF radio
propagation conditions are expected to be poor. Maximum usable
frequencies (MUFs) in the Australian region are expected to be near
predicted monthly values. Shortwave fadeouts are possible.
