Solar activity on UT day 02-Sep is expected to be at R1-R2. A new
flare active solar region is rotating onto the solar disk over the
southeast solar limb. This new region produced a long duration M5
flare with an associated fast and expansive, but not Earth directed
CME. The solar proton flux has mildly increased after 01/1950UT and is
currently below the ASWAS S1-Minor threshold. There is a slight chance
for an S1-Minor solar radiation storm event today. The solar wind
speed is expected to be light. G0 geomagnetic conditions are expected.
HF radio communication conditions are expected to be normal. Maximum
usable frequencies (MUFs) are generally expected to be near predicted
monthly values to 15% enhanced. Shortwave fadeouts are probable.
