Low to moderate solar flare activity is expected for today, 16
January, with a slight chance of an isolated M-class flare. The solar
wind has been strong and is expected to be initially strong today,
with a declining trend to moderate due to a coronal hole wind stream.
Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be unsettled to active with a
chance of minor storm periods. High frequency radio communication
conditions are expected to be fair to normal, with degraded conditions
for the southern Australian region early in the day, then improving.
Isolated minor short-wave fadeouts are possible.
