For UT day 17 January, solar activity is expected to remain very low.
Solar wind velocity is currently light to moderate. Geomagnetic
activity is currently at quiet to unsettled levels due to the
influence of a recurrent coronal hole. Southern Hemisphere HF radio
communication users are advised to use predicted monthly frequencies
or slightly lower frequencies as mild to moderate ionospheric
depressions are likely due to relatively low levels of ionising
radiation from the Sun.
