The Sun is currently spotless, Very Low solar activity is expected for
today, UT day 28 February. The Earth is currently under the influence
of elevated solar wind speed associated with a negative polarity
coronal hole. Geomagnetic activity in the Australian region is
expected to be Unsettled to Active and at times may even reach Minor
Storm levels today, 28 February. A period of significant southward Bz
component could produce a Major Storm period over the next 24 hours.
High-frequency radio communication users are advised to use slightly
lower to near predicted monthly frequencies due to very low levels of
ionising radiation from the Sun and disturbed geomagnetic conditions
associated with the coronal hole.
