Very low solar activity is expected for today, 21 April. The solar
wind speed is currently under the influence of a high speed solar wind
stream from a recurrent coronal hole. The solar wind speed is at
strong to very strong levels. Geomagnetic activity is expected to be
at unsettled to active levels. Isolated minor storm periods may occur
if sustained southward Bz conditions occur. If this geomagnetic
activity occurs, auroras may be visible for southernmost Australian
regions (e.g. Tasmania and the coastline of Victoria) during local
nighttime hours. High-frequency radio communications may experience
minor to moderate MUF depressions.
