Very low solar flare activity is again expected for today 20 February.
A filament eruption from near the solar centre N14E02 was observed to
begin at around 19/0511 UT. However, it was not clear from the
satellite imagery if this event had triggered an earth-directed
coronal mass ejection (CME). The effects of the coronal hole have
started to wane. The solar wind speeds are expected to trend towards
nominal levels from today. The geomagnetic conditions are expected to
be mostly between quiet and unsettled levels today. High-frequency
radio communications users are advised to use near monthly predicted
frequencies today.
