Sat May 14 10:32:30 EST 2016
Solar activity on UT day 13 May was at very low levels with no notable
flares. The solar wind had dropped gradually from 400 km/s to 340 km/s
during the past 24 hours. The winds are expected remain near the
background ambient levels today, 14 May. The geomagnetic conditions
are expected to remain at mostly quiet today. High-frequency radio
communications conditions are expected to be mildly depressed to near
predicted monthly values today. Advance warning is issued for an
expected increase in geomagnetic activity to possibly minor storm
levels and strong solar wind speeds on 15-16 May in response to a
large positive polarity northern hemisphere coronal hole moving into a
geoeffective location on the solar disk. More updates on expected
arrival of storm will be provided soon.
