rwc
rwc at ips.gov.au
Sun May 1 09:41:32 EST 2016
Very low to low solar flare activity. The solar wind speed is
currently light to Moderate and is expected to increase due to
anticipated arrival of a coronal hole high speed wind stream and a
possible minor glancing blow from 28 Apr CME activity during the
coming hours. This should increase geomagnetic activity to Active,
possibly to Minor Storm levels today. Periods of disturbed ionospheric
support for high latitudes are likely over the next few days. There is
a chance of aurora sightings (visibility permitting) from Tasmania
tonight.
