Further analysis of Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) observed on LASCO
imagery at 03/1700 UT suggest that it could be associated with a
separate limb side event and therefore is not likely to affect earth.
It was concluded that the erupting solar filament observed at 03/1600
UT from around the solar centre (N25E20) therefore may not have
triggered a CME. The solar winds are currently at very high levels of
near 600 km/s associated with high speed streams emanating from a
large positive polarity coronal hole. Disturbed solar wind conditions
and associated moderately active geomagnetic conditions are expected
to continue today, 5 August. High-frequency radio communication
conditions are expected to be slightly depressed today, 5 August, over
the Australasia region.
