Solar activity is expected to be low, with C class flares likely and
isolated chance of M class flares. These activities are mainly
associated with an active, growing sunspot Region 2415. A large
northern hemisphere waning coronal hole has kept the solar wind speed
elevated. Solar wind speed should remain elevated for the next few
days. No earth directed CMEs were observed during the UT day 16
September. Geomagnetic conditions were mostly quiet to unsettled, with
isolated active periods. Mostly quiet to unsettled levels are expected
for 17 September. Significantly degraded HF conditions continue due to
very low levels of ionising radiation.
