There are presently no major active regions on the visible solar disk.
Solar flare activity is trending towards very low levels. Coronal Hole
(CH) 694 covers an extensive equatorial region and it is currently
traversing the central meridian. A compression region ahead of the
high speed solar wind stream emanating from CH 694 may drive a minor
geomagnetic storm next weekend. The solar wind speed is presently
about 480 km/s. Geomagnetic conditions are expected to be unsettled to
active today, 05 Oct. Conditions for HF radio wave propagation will be
depressed during the next 2 days.
