Significant xray flare activity is ongoing due to an eruptive sunspot
region. This region is not currently well placed to produce
geoeffective CMEs but will rotate into a more effective position over
the next few days. If it continues to flare geomagnetic disturbance
may result. The Earth is currently in a high speed solar wind stream
caused by a coronal hole. This is causing some unsettled geomagnetic
conditions. The ionospheric support for HF radion propagation is good,
however the flare activity is expected to produce some short wave
fadeouts.
