Low solar flare activity. A significant X-ray flare was observed May
17 from region 1476 while approaching the west limb. Following the
flare a large coronal mass ejection was observed. There is a chance of
a glancing impact from this event. Light to moderate solar wind.
Geomagnetic conditions at quiet to unsettled levels. High-frequency
radio communications normal with some degraded conditions at mid to
high latitudes.
