Tue Aug 7 10:29:18 EST 2012

Low to moderate solar flare activity. Coronal mass ejection (shock
wave) launched 4 Aug from a solar filament likely to strike a glancing
blow to the geomagnetic field early on 8 Aug causing moderate
disturbances but probably not large enough for aurora sightings in
Australia. Coronal Mass Ejections launched eastward from sunspot group
AR1542 just rotating onto the solar disc will not impact Earth. Light
solar wind. Geomagnetic conditions at quiet levels. Short-wave radio
fadeouts possible from x-ray flares from new sunspot group AR21542.
High-frequency radio communications normal at low to mid latitudes
with isolated degraded conditions at high latitudes.
