18-19 Mar 02: Quiet to Minor Storm
23-24 Mar 02: Unsettled to Minor Storm
30-31 Mar 02: Quiet to Minor Storm
Activity during intervals 04-06, and 30-31 Mar was due to a
coronal holes. Activity during intervals 18-19 Mar and
23-24 Mar was associated with mass ejections. The local A
index reached 29 on 24 Mar, the highest value for the month.
===============================================================================
4. IONOSPHERIC DISTURBANCES (for Australian Region)
04 Mar 02: Southern region MUFs depressed 10-15% most of local day.
24-25 Mar 02: MUFs depressed 20% southern region only after 20UT. MUFs
recovered by 01UT on 25 Mar.
No significant depressions were observed during the month. A brief
period of depressed MUFs were observed in southern region Aus/NZ
24-25 Mar in association with geomagnetic activity.
