* = New data. T index may have changed.
^ = IPS predicted T index.
The predicted smoothed monthly T-indices are computed by
using a statistical analysis of the observed monthly T-indices
for all solar cycles since 1938. The IPS T-indices may not be
updated each month but only when sufficient new
data becomes available.

19 Jul 01 M1.8/1B 1004UT
2.1 Comments on Solar Activity.
Solar activity was at mostly low levels this month. Moderate
activity was observed on 16 and 19 July due to low level
M class flares.
===============================================================================
3. GEOMAGNETIC DISTURBANCES (for Australian Region)
DATE COMMENTS
25 Jul 01: Active to Minor Storm periods.
31 Jul 01: Active periods.
Two moderately distrubed days were observed this month.
Both disturbances are believed to be due to coronal holes.
Weaker coronal hole recurrent patterns caused
unsettled activity on 05 and 16 July.
===============================================================================
4. IONOSPHERIC DISTURBANCES (for Australian Region)
No significant depressions were observed in the Aus/NZ region
this month. Mildly degraded HF conditions may have been
experienced on 25 and 31 July in association with mild
geomagnetic activity.
