SUBJ: SWS PRELIMINARY HF RADIO COMMUNICATIONS WARNING 16/01
ISSUED AT 0009UT/03 JANUARY 2016
BY THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE.
Due to a possible glancing blow from a CME, there is some possibility
of rise in geomagnetic activity on 3 and and 4 January. If this
rise in geomagnetic activity eventuates, minor to moderate depressions
in MUFs and degradations in HF conditions may be possible on
these days, especially at mid and high latitude locations.
DEGRADED HF PROPAGATION CONDITIONS EXPECTED
FROM 03-04 JANUARY 2016
IF COMMS DIFFICULTIES EXPERIENCED TRY A LOWER FREQUENCY BAND
A MORE DETAILED HF WARNING WILL FOLLOW IF DEPRESSIONS EVENTUATE.
