SUBJ: IPS HF RADIO COMMUNICATIONS WARNING 01/35
ISSUED AT 01/0011Z AUGUST 2001
BY THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE.
Mildly degraded HF conditions were observed during
local night hours last night for southern Aus/NZ region.
In addition, some southern AUS/NZ sites have become mildly
depressed after local dawn this morning, particularly
Norfolk Island, Canberra and Chrsitchurch. Christchurch MUFs
are currently depressed 30%.
Mild degradation is in association with mild geomagnetic
activity possibly due to coronal hole effects.
Further mild depressions possible after local
dawn tomorrow morning.
Northern region MUFs have remained near normal and
HF communicators in northern region Aus/NZ should
continue to use the monthly T index of 115.

FROM 01-02 AUGUST 2001 FOR SOUTHERN REGION AUS/NZ ONLY.
