SUBJ: ASWFC GEOMAGNETIC DISTURBANCE WARNING 23/31
ISSUED AT 0746UT/28 MAY 2023
BY THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE WEATHER FORECASTING CENTRE.

The solar wind interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) has been drifting 
southward since 26/1600UT. The magnitude of the north-south vector (Bz) 
is -5nT at present, and the total magnetic field (Bt) is constant rather than 
increasing. There is a chance of a geomagnetic G1 period tonight if 
the orientation of Bz IMF vector persists mildly southward. 
The cause is unclear.
