SUBJ: ASWFC GEOMAGNETIC DISTURBANCE WARNING 23/20
ISSUED AT 0214UT/24 APRIL 2023
BY THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE WEATHER FORECASTING CENTRE.

An Earth-directed halo CME first observed on 21-Apr has impacted 
Earth's magnetosphere on UT day 23-Apr, with a strong shock in 
the solar wind detected at 23/1700UT. Strong sustained southward 
IMF conditions are currently being observed which is expected 
to result in increased geomagnetic activity on 24-Apr. G3-G4 
planetary geomagnetic conditions are possible on 24-Apr. G0-G1 
geomagnetic conditions are expected on 25-Apr.

INCREASED GEOMAGNETIC ACTIVITY EXPECTED 
DUE TO CORONAL MASS EJECTION
