BY THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE.

INCREASED GEOMAGNETIC ACTIVITY EXPECTED
DUE TO CORONAL HOLE HIGH SPEED WIND STREAM
FROM 21-23 AUGUST 2003

The solar wind stream has shown signs of significant 
strengthening during the last four hours. The solar
wind speed has increased from 420 km/s to 575 km/s
(approx.) during this period and IMF also fluctuated 
mostly southwards. It seems that the anticipated 
coronal hole effect is eventuating before the expected 
time. Minor storm conditions may be observed during the
next three days.
