SUBJ: IPS GEOMAGNETIC DISTURBANCE WARNING 02/14
ISSUED AT 23/0437Z APRIL 2002
BY THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE.

Strong shock was observed in solar wind  at 0414UT/23April.
At the time of issue Bz appears to have fluctuated southward.
If this southward orientation persists, major storm periods
may be experienced during local night hours. This shock is 
beleived associated with the X1/CME observed on the western limb 
on 21 April. 

INCREASED GEOMAGNETIC ACTIVITY EXPECTED
FROM 23-24 APRIL 2002

GEOMAGNETIC ACTIVITY FORECAST 
23 Apr:  Mostly active to minor storm level. Isolated major storm
periods possible. 
24 Apr: Minor storm to active in the first half of the day
then declining to unsettled level in the late hours.
