SUBJ: SWS DAILY SOLAR AND GEOPHYSICAL REPORT
ISSUED AT 2330UT/08 JULY 2021 BY Space Weather Services
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE
SUMMARY FOR 08 JULY AND FORECAST FOR 09 JULY - 11 JULY
STATUS INDICATORS SOL:GREEN MAG:GREEN ION: GREEN
-----------------------------------------------------------
1A. SOLAR SUMMARY
Activity 08 Jul: Very low
Flares: none.
Observed 10.7 cm flux/Equivalent Sunspot Number for 08 Jul: 73/9
1B. SOLAR FORECAST
09 Jul 10 Jul 11 Jul
Activity Very low Very low Very low
Fadeouts None expected None expected None expected
10.7cm/SSN 73/9 73/9 73/9
COMMENT: Solar activity was very low on UT day 8 July with several
B-class flares from regions 2835, 2837, and 2840. Currently there
are three numbered regions on the visible disk: AR 2837 (N18W62),
AR 2839 (N18W13), and AR2840 (N25W90). There were no CMEs observed
in the available coronagraph images. Solar activity is expected
to be very low on UT days 9-11 July with a small chance of C-class
flares. On 8 July, the solar wind speed was between 310 km/s
and 330 km/s. The IMF (Bt) peaked at 8 nT and the north-south
IMF component (Bz) range was +/-4 nT. The solar wind speed is
expected to be near its background levels on UT day 9 July. Then
the solar wind speed may be elevated to slightly enhanced levels
on UT days 10-11 July due to coronal hole effects.

Hobart 0 (Quiet)
Pc3 pulsations are high frequency (10-45 second period) variations
of the Earths magnetic field. Daily pc3-indices are the daily sum
of 20 minute pc3-indices for that station and have been shown to be
well correlated with rejection of high resolution aeromagnetic
survey flight-line data.
NOTE: Indices may have been generated from data obtained in
cooperation with the following organisations: Geoscience Australia,
University of Newcastle Space Physics Group, Australian Government
Antarctic Division and International Center for Space Weather
Science and Education, Japan.
Estimated AFr/Ap Indices 08 Jul : A
Fredericksburg 4
Planetary 5
Observed AFr/Ap Indices 07 Jul : A K

2B. MAGNETIC FORECAST
Date Ap Conditions
09 Jul 7 Quiet
10 Jul 10 Quiet to Unsettled
11 Jul 8 Quiet to Unsettled
COMMENT: Geomagnetic conditions in the Australian region were
quiet on UT day 8 July. In the Antarctic region, geomagnetic
conditions were mostly quiet to unsettled. Global geomagnetic
conditions are expected to be mostly quiet on UT day 9 July.
Then unsettled conditions may be observed on UT days 10-11 July
due to coronal hole effects.
